The Director, Employee Health Services is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the department and achieving the department goals and objectives. In addition, the Director has oversight of the daily operations of all employee health functions. The Director, Employee Health manages all employee health regulatory and compliance requirements (JCAHO/HFAP, State of IL, CMS, OSHA, ADA, etc). Manages the System worker’s compensation program and partners with Human Resources absence management team for case management issues. Serves as department liaison to patient safety, infection prevention, risk management and safety/security
Management of Employee Health Services and population health program development.
Develop innovative approaches to wellness engagement with employees.
Benchmarking, auditing, reporting, tracking, and trending of WC incidents with the general marketplace, national standards and guidelines.
Monitors employee health and safety to ensure compliance with regulations and policies. Investigates potential and actual work-related injuries and illnesses.
Performs and supervises physical assessments including annual screens, worker's compensation illness or injury, acute and chronic medical conditions.
Stays abreast of current federal and state regulations related to employee safety, health and disability issues.
Develop, coordinate, manage, and maintain wellness programming to reduce health risk, medical costs and encourage healthy lifestyles.
Works on continuous communication, awareness and education of critical workplace safety and wellness issues.
Implement wellbeing related activities. Examples include: health screenings, flu-shots, safety/wellness classes.
Keep abreast of current national employee wellness initiatives and activities, developing a network of resources and contacts to use as appropriate.
Explore ideas and opportunities to personalize the program to increase employee participation.
Manages the workers’ compensation claims and ADA requests to determine investigative strategy and most cost effective way to resolve the claim. The decision on conclusion of a claim is based upon an analysis of the facts, liability and applicable rules and laws.
Workers’ Compensation (WC) claims adjustment and case management including financial, medical, and legal coordination of each injury case. Makes decision to accept or deny workers’ comp case based on type of injury, investigation, and findings
